GM reclaims title as world's largest automaker

General Motors has reclaimed the title as the world's largest automaker for 2011.
According to figures crunched by the Detroit Free Press, the company sold 9.03 million vehicles last year which exceeds the 8.16 million sold by Volkswagen. Toyota hasn't released their final numbers yet, but estimated they sold 7.9 million vehicles.
GM's impressive comeback was helped by strong sales in Russia, Turkey and Germany which posted year-over-year increases of 49%, 30% and 21%, respectively.
